Radio Grenouille

A local community radio founded in 1981, Radio Grenouille offers to the listeners in Marseille and on the web a peculiar approach of a cultural media trying to go beyond reporting the local social and cultural life, to open spaces of expressions, to propose questions and debates, to favour encounters.

Grenouille's action is centered on actual broadcasting, on the musical programmes, but also on its creative workshops including radio practical workshops for the scholars of the area, and public events favouring exchanges between artists, musicians, writers, etc. and the listeners.

Grenouille develops a fluctuating approach in continuous evolution, favouring programmes with a flexible structure. Following thematic editorial choices, the programmes report and question Marseille, its cultural territories and its complex social fabric. Musical programmes particularly focus on emerging urban cultures and innovative musical forms. Beside music, Grenouille approaches a wide range of social and cultural issues in specific thematic programmes, mobilizing the entire journalistic staff around editorial choices.

Grenouille's activities go beyond the actual broadcasting. They involve a creative studio, Euphonia (blog), for the experimentation of new sound and radio creations, hosting artists who can enjoy a stimulating environment.
