ORANGE 94.0

ORANGE 94.0 is a Free Radio Station in Vienna that provides air space for different groups and the dissemination of information and styles which are not heard in the main stream media. It opens up radio access to the general public by spreading media competence and technical know-how. ORANGE 94.0 is free of advertisements. Free Radio encourages freedom of expression und therefore creates a pluralistic form of media.

• Many languages are spoken on ORANGE 94.0: Turkish, English, Serbian, Croatian, Spanish, Bosnian, French, Portugese, Kurdish, Esparanto.
• Musik of every genre is played, to satisfy every taste: Pop, rock, house, hiphop, metal, jazz, funk, drum n‘ bass, R&B, electronic, punk, reggae, swing, Viennese songs.
• Voices from many different areas of the community can be heard: migrants, women, lesbians, seniors, young people, gays, homeless people, job holders.
• Many different interests are covered: in the area of politics, economy, environmental protection, art, social movements, youth culture.
• Diverse and objective satire programmes are also to be heard.

The rights holder of the organisation ORANGE 94.0 is the „Verein Freies Radio Wien“. The business side of ORANGE 94.0 is run by a multi-professional team, and on air the radio creators who make their programmes on a voluntary basis can be heard.
