Kanal 103

Kanal 103 is a unique alternative free radio station on the macedonian air. It was formed as an open minded media in 1991 when the political problems and cathegorical changes where about to happen here. It was formed as a part of the Macedonian National Television, whereas Kanal 103 turned into national enemy number 1. Ideologically and musically, the most influential media at the time, taking strong alternative anti-establishment ideological side and presenting the most up-to-date alternative music. The ideology that it represented lately has begun to fade out, as a consequence to the more and more vague political contexts in the country, however as result it is highly concentrated on presenting new music. It covers up most of the contemporary musical styles from alternative rock to rock n roll, dance and all categories of experimental music, to punk, jazz, contemporary classic, old music... Also other aspects of art are included such as film, theatre, literature... Kanal 103 is above all occupied with contemporary yout culture, organising concerts, partyes and various events.
