Radio Papesse

Radio Papesse is the first art and culture webradio born within an Italian public Contemporary Art Center.
It was born to give the Palazzo delle Papesse Contemporary Art Center and the aim was and still is to create an alternative space within get in touch with contemporary culture.


Radio Papesse is an on-line free audio archive and a community web radio streaming 24/7. The visitor as well as the expert, the art lover like the newcomer, the artist and the student can find in Radio Papesse suggestions and information. Interviews, documentaries, audioguides, experimental audio productions, soundscapes but also music, electronic, jazz, rock, ambient...that's Radio Papesse.
We try to associate a discourse on contemporary art, sound art and the sonic dimension of contemporary culture together with music and listenings you wouldn’t find on other radios.


On the back of our past in a public institution, since January 2009 Radio Papesse has moved forward indipendently and it’s now a non-profit cultural association. What is going to be unchanged is our will to make you listen to the sounds, the voices and the news from the contemporary art world.
