After more than ten years of hard work towards a local radio station in September 1997 radio x Frankfurt am Main went on air with an official licence for NKL radio (= non commercial local radio, advertisement/commercial and sponsoring free and financed only by its members as well as with money from public funds).
More than 100 groups and initiatives, authors, musicians, artists are providing radio x with a high quality programme, consisting of a broad variety of shows ranging from live music and dj sessions, magazines focussing all kinds of cultural activities, music, fine art, street art, literature, theatre, dance, movies, comics and games, radio for kids, community radio, special interest programmes for dorks and nerds, fans and enthusiasts of whatever kind, programmes in several European and Non-European languages, comedy, radio plays, sound art...
2. radiator x
In spring 2008 radio x joined the radia network with radiator x.
radiator x has a weekly one hour slot on radio x (local fm/cable and live webstream; times + frequencies see below).
Accordingly, each radiator x show consists of two parts: The current radia programme is joined either by a radiator x-production or by a radia show from the radia archives.
radiator x is hosted and produced by GUNST radio (art radio / radio art & media culture, broadcasting on radio x since 1997).
3. times and frequencies
From March 2008 onwards you can listen to radiator x on radio x:
